2024 International Calendar

Pulling together

Since its inception in 1961, Peace Corps has been all about people pulling together to effect change and make progress through friendship and service. Now, with Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) back in the field again after the COVID-induced hiatus, the collective work for peace can continue.

Tthe International Calendar has been published every year since 1988 to celebrate Peace Corps and its ideal of peace through service and friendship. The calendar focuses on the people and places where PCVs have served.

Peace Corps has changed and grown since its founding in 1961, but the spirit of peace, friendship, and service remains the same; volunteers still are guided by these original three goals:

1. To help the countries interested meeting their need for trained people

2. To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of peoples served

3. To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans

The International Calendar Project represents the backbone of the "3rd goal" work of the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers in and around Madison, Wisconsin. By celebrating the countries, cultures, and people served by Peace Corps, we hope to foster a better understanding of people everywhere and an appreciation for all world cultures. In addition, in the 3+ decades of publishing this calendar, more than $1.5 million in sales proceeds have been used to support development projects at home and abroad.
